I am an international affairs and social scientist by training. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Urban Studies & Planning at MIT, studying public policy and planning, with a focus on urban sustainability and institutional innovation.

My research is motivated by complex policy questions with the aim of unpacking constant interactions between human, environmental, and technological spheres to envision sustainable society and economy. Methodologically, I seek to combine in-depth qualitative case study designs with statistical analysis.

Current research projects include:

  1. Advancing public interest technologies: role of intermediary organizations.

  2. Change agents and electric vehicle adoption.

  3. Conflicts in renewable energy development.

  4. Urban resilience: knowledge gaps, operationalization, and capacity building.

  5. Evaluating a clinical approach to helping cities assess vulnerabilities to cyberattacks.

  6. Effective transportation policy-making and implementation in Chinese cities.

  7. Reformulating the true costs of energy externalities.
